Two Injured in Industrial Accident at Southampton Princess

Southampton, Bermuda – April 13, 2025

An industrial accident occurred this morning on the grounds of the Southampton Princess Hotel, resulting in two individuals being hospitalized.

Police Media Relations Manager, Mr. Gary Moreno, provided an official update, stating that at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, police received reports of an incident involving an electrical transformer on the hotel compound.

Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered that two individuals had sustained injuries related to the transformer. Both were transported to hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. The severity of their injuries remains unknown at this time.

BELCO has been notified of the incident, and the affected transformer or part of the facility has since been shut down as a precaution. Authorities have confirmed that a full investigation into the cause of the accident is now underway.
