Two Grenadian Nationals charged with importing cannabis into Bermuda

Two Grenadian nationals have been charged with importing about $600,000 worth of cannabis into the island of Bermuda.

Kenrick Christopher, 56, and Johnny Alexander, 33, were charged with conspiring to bring the drugs into Bermuda between an unknown date and November 9, were not required to enter a plea to the indictable offences, when they appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

Crown Counsil Paul Wilson told the court that the men, as well as the drugs in question, were found on board a boat in local waters last week and that the matter is still being investigated by police with others expected to appear in court.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson sent the case to the Supreme Court, where it will be mentioned on January 2, 2024 monthly arrangement session and remanded them into custody at Westgate Corrections Facility.
