Two Fire Stations Allegedly Shut Down due to COVID Outbreak

UPDATE: It is understood that, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the day shifts at both the Port Royal and Clearwater fire stations were unmanned due to a shortage of staff, closing both facilities during the daylight hours today.

The evening shift, which began at 6 p.m. this evening, has personnel on call

Word coming to TNN suggesting that the Port Royal Fire Station and the station at Southside which deals with only local activity (excluding the airport and runway), have been shut down due to a staff shortage and an outbreak of COVID-19.

We await a response from the Department of Communication and Information (DCI) on this matter. However, reliable sources have indicated that this is indeed the situation at these establishments.
