Turmoil in the One Bermuda Alliance Camp

TNN Investigative Story

Rumors continue to swirl inside the One Bermuda Alliance (OBA) camp, where tensions are reportedly rising around the leadership of Opposition Leader Mr. Robert King. While the party maintains a calm exterior, sources within the party paint a very different picture — one where unity is fractured, confidence is wavering, and patience is wearing thin.

Behind closed doors, frustration is said to be at an all-time high. According to individuals familiar with the matter, not everyone in the party supports Mr. Robert King’s approach. They describe disagreements over ideology, communication style, and the direction in which he is attempting to steer the organization. Some members, once loyal supporters, are now quietly distancing themselves.

In addition, those who traditionally fund and fuel party initiatives are reportedly pulling back. Insiders suggest that financial donors are uneasy with current leadership, and several major contributors are said to have paused — or potentially withdrawn — financial backing until clarity and stability return.

Meanwhile, the media’s patience has also thinned. Despite multiple invitations for one-on-one interviews intended to introduce policies and show a vision for the future, Mr. King has repeatedly declined or backed out at the last minute. Journalists, who were once eager to provide him a platform, are now openly questioning the transparency of his leadership.

These compounded tensions have sparked whispers throughout the political corridors: Is a vote of no confidence imminent? Several colleagues have reportedly begun strategizing for the possibility, believing it is only a matter of time before the internal struggle becomes public.

For now, the One Bermuda Alliance present themselves as unified. But beneath that surface… pressure is building.

• Will the cracks widen?

• Will the leader withstand the storm?

• Will the party choose a different path before Robert King destroys the party after all the work put in to get to where the party is today?

TNN reach out to the One Bermuda Alliance (OBA) party organization for a response to these allegations below is the reply from OBA Chairman William Soares.

On September 6th, the membership of the One Bermuda Alliance voted for Robert King to become the new leader of the party. The result was clear and undisputed.

The Party will not engage in any further public statements about unfounded rumours which are clearly designed to distract from the PLPs numerous failings from public safety to education to housing. The PLP is a Government without a majority mandate.

The OBA will continue to hold the PLP to account every day and the team is committed to working for all Bermudians. The team works hard every day to build on our solid foundation to ensure the OBA is ready to win the next election and govern with honesty and integrity and work for a better Bermuda.
