Around 1:35 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, police and other first responders were despatched to a single road traffic collision involving a Department of Works and Engineering trash truck, just east of the junction with Middle Road, Paget.

Details are limited, but initial information suggests the truck with three people inside, was travelling in an easterly direction on South Shore Road, when it appears the driver lost control of the vehicle and went over an embankment onto a grassy area below.

The driver and two other occupants, all male, had to be extricated with the assistance of Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel.

After being attended to at the scene by EMTs, the three men were transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, for treatment of injuries which were described as not serious.

The vehicle was extensively damaged.

While the collision scene was being processed, traffic was restricted to one lane headed east, while westbound traffic, was diverted onto Harbour Road and eventually over White Sands Road, onto the Railway Trail, then to South Road.

The roadway was reopened to regular traffic flow around 4:30 p.m.

Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when approaching the collision site, particularly during the hours of darkness.
