POLICE UPDATE: The roadway has now been reopened.
The scene of last night’s collision remains closed with traffic being diverted at the junction of South Road and Lighthouse Road, as well as the junction of South Road and the entrance to Southampton Princess Hotel.
Traffic delays are to be expected and we apologise for the inconvenience caused as we continue to investigate the serious multi-vehicle collision.
