TNN’s Questions Go Unanswered

Residents who rely on TNN’s coverage of the issues of the day have begun to question why we have not put important questions to Premier David Burt on many different fronts including the spike in COVID cases;

The questions over students and the requirement to wear masks and the trouble on the Labour front to name a few.

We can report that TNN has written DCI staff last week Wednesday requesting a live interview on TNN Facebook page with Premier Burt and to-date there has been no time and date scheduled for an interview. Last week Wednesday ZBM news interview was seen on the 7pm news cast, the next day Bernews online interview was held, it appears TNN is being ignored.

One of TNN followers Ms. Joanne Santiago expressed disappointment “ It appears to be a lack of direct communication or live interviews with the leadership of the Government and TNN. “

Our next approach is to test the independence of the Media Council as we aim to file a complaint of discriminatory practices by the Government; Premier; and the Department of Communications and Information DCI.

TNN wrote a detailed questions and submitted to DCI today as Government facility and local businesses has report an outbreak of COVID cases in Bermuda and at this point we await a timely response.

A Department of Communication and Information spokesperson replied with a statement, Thank you for your query. “The Ministry of Health does not comment on individual cases.”
