TNN Corrects Earlier Report on Minister Michael Weeks’ Departure

TNN is correcting an earlier report that stated National Security Minister Michael Weeks resigned from Cabinet.

Based on new information provided by a source that TNN considers reliable, we are now told that Weeks did not resign but was instead dismissed by the Premier.

At this time, TNN has not independently verified this information, and we are continuing to seek official confirmation from the Premier’s Office and Minister Weeks.

TNN has also been told by sources that speculation linking Weeks’ departure to support for Curtis Dickinson is inaccurate. According to those sources, Weeks has not declared support for any leadership candidate and intends to support whichever candidate is ultimately elected by the Progressive Labour Party delegates and MPS.

Additionally, sources allege that leadership candidates, including Jason Hayward and Curtis Dickinson, have been instructed that media inquiries and public communications regarding the leadership contest must be coordinated through the Premier. TNN has not independently verified this claim and has requested comment from the Premier’s Office.

Supporters within the Progressive Labour Party have raised questions about the level of involvement the Premier may have in the ongoing leadership race. Those concerns remain the subject of reporting, and TNN is working to verify the facts.

This is a developing story. TNN is actively seeking responses from all parties involved and will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
