Three men race for the PLP deputy Premier position

TNN understands there are in fact three hopefuls contesting to become the next Deputy Leader of the Progressive Labour Party.

Zane DeSilva has made his intentions publicly known via a video clip declaring his candidacy and which is now circulating on social media.

However, TNN can confirm that also vying to succeed former Deputy, Walter Roban are, Diallo Rabain and Michael Weekes.

A series of three meetings have been scheduled for the three hopefuls to address Party Delegates to each state their case for selection.

According to our source, Mr. DeSilva is considered the front runner, with Mr. Weekes said to have been impressive during his presentation.

Our source suggesting Mr. Rabain was also well received. The party official we spoke with described as, refreshing, the approach adopted by the three candidates who have been courteous and have expressed a desire for reconciliation within the party.

There are reports that a Delegates Conference is slated for next week when a vote will be taken to decide is to succeed Walter Roban.
