Teenager Charged in Divots Firearm Incident

Appearing this morning in Magistrate’s Court, Josiah King was formally charged with possessing a Generation 5 Glock 19 firearm and possessing three different types of ammunition, on May 10,
2022, at Divots Bar, Grill and Terrace in Warwick.

The 18-year-old Warwick resident is also charged with possessing a firearm intending to commit an indictable offense and having a firearm in a public place without lawful excuse or license to
do so, on the same aforementioned date and location.

Since the charges against Mr. King are indictable and must be heard in the Supreme Court, he was not required to enter any plea during this morning’s session.

Since King’s acting counsel Charles Richardson has not yet made any application for bail, the Worshipful Magistrate Maxanne Anderson sent the case up to Supreme Court, where it will
be mentioned during the July arraignment sessions on Friday, July 1, and ordered that King was remanded into custody until that date.
