Bermuda’s Ten-Bin Bowling Association is set to make waves on the global stage as the team heads to Hong Kong China, for the prestigious International Bowling Federation (IBF) World Cup. The tournament, often compared to the FIFA World Cup, brings together 32 qualifying countries for a high-stakes competition.

Steven Riley, team manager and assistant coach, shared insights about the journey. “We’re leaving Bermuda Wednesday night and heading to Hong Kong before arriving in Malaysia,” he said. “We’ve got a strong team, and I’m quietly optimistic about our chances.”

•The Team and Tournament Details

The seven-member team, led by captain Lamar Richardson, includes David Maycock, LeVinc Samuels, Dayvon Tucker (the rookie), Michael Honore, Dennis Joel, and Steven Riley himself. In addition to the players, 15 spectators will travel to support Bermuda’s efforts.

The IBF World Cup runs from January 5th to January 14th. Teams will start in pools of eight, with the top two advancing to subsequent rounds. Riley emphasized the importance of adapting to the new center and lane pattern designed specifically for the tournament.

•Expectations and Aspirations

With confidence in the team’s skill and preparation, Riley expressed hope for a strong performance. “If these guys make the necessary adjustments, I believe we have a good chance to bring home gold,” he said.

Bermuda’s participation in the tournament highlights the country’s commitment to excellence on the international stage. Good luck to Team Bermuda as they aim for the ultimate prize: being crowned world champions!
