TEAM BERMUDA ANNOUNCES FLAG BEARERS FOR PARIS 2024

The Bermuda Olympic Association is proud to announce the individuals who will be carrying the Bermuda flag at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

This honour has been bestowed upon two exceptional athletes who exemplify the spirit of Bermuda and embody the values of sportsmanship and excellence.

Being the first to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games for team Bermuda and making her Olympic debut, sailor Adriana Penruddocke has been selected as the female flag bearer. Also gracing the Olympic field for the first time, the male flag bearer will be Commonwealth Bronze medalist triple jumper Jah-Nhai Perinchief, Bermuda’s final Olympic qualifier bringing the team total to eight athletes.

Regarding this team selection, our Chef de Mission, Katura Horton-Perinchief remarked, “The opportunity to carry the Bermuda flag into an Olympic stadium is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious honours the Bermuda Olympic Association can bestow upon an athlete. Adriana and Jah-Nhai, as brand new additions to the Olympic fraternity, will represent the island with pride, showcasing the beauty and diversity of the berth of sporting talent Bermuda has to offer the globe. They are two of Bermuda’s best and I’m truly ecstatic for both of them.”

The 33rd Olympic Games will kick off with the Opening Ceremony, being broadcast exclusively on NBC and Peacock. For team updates, competition schedules and behind-the-scenes content, follow the Bermuda Olympic Association (@nocbermuda) on social platforms Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and X
