Sudden Death Victim Identify as 63-Year-Old Malcolm Stovell Jr.

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) can now confirm the death of 63-year-old Malcolm Stovell Jr. and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Shortly before 6pm Sunday, 28th August 2022, police responded to a report of a lifeless body washed ashore on a beach, near Astwood Walk in Warwick, later identified as Mr. Stovell.

The 63-year-old, understood to be a Warwick resident, is believed to have been swimming in the ocean shortly before the discovery of his body.

The investigation surrounding the circumstances of Mr. Stovell’s sudden death continues.

The BPS is renewing the appeal for anyone who may have been in the Astwood Walk, Warwick area – in particular, the beach area known as “100 Steps Beach” – around 6pm Sunday, 28th August, to call 211 or e-mail 211@bps.bm as soon as possible.
