Sudden Death of 69-Year-Old-Man
Around 12:25pm Monday, 4th April 2022 a 911 call was received of a body overboard in the waters off Penhurst Park dock, North Shore Road, Smith’s parish.
Coastguard, police and ambulance personnel attended the scene.
The individual involved, believed to be a 69-year-old Smith’s parish man, was recovered from the ocean and lifesaving efforts commenced – which continued as he was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.
However, sadly, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Once next of kin have been notified, official identification of the deceased is anticipated in due course.
Inquiries continue regarding the circumstances of this sudden death.
