Stand-Off Averted Without Incident Says Police Media Relations Officer

Police officers responded to a reported mental health incident at a residence on The Glebe Road in Pembroke around 10pm Tuesday, 18th October 2022.

The individual involved apparently threatened family members with a knife. As a result, the family members exited the home, leaving the individual alone inside.

Hospital personnel also responded to the scene as a precaution and to provide relevant expertise.

Police negotiators communicated with the individual overnight into the next day (Wednesday, 19th October).

Thankfully, the incident concluded safely around 2:50pm Wednesday, without injury to the individual, who was taken for medical assessment.
