A 25-year-old St. George’s man appeared in Magistrate’s Court this morning to face serious indictable charges related to firearms, ammunition, and drugs. Ezekiel Swan, of St. George, was accused of conspiring to import four firearms, a quantity of ammunition, and a significant amount of drugs.
Due to the severity of the charges, Swan was not required to enter a plea. The case will proceed to the Supreme Court for further review.
Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson granted bail to Swan under strict conditions, setting the amount at $50,000 with one surety. As part of his bail terms, Swan is to abide by a nightly curfew from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and will be fitted with an Electronic Monitoring Device (EMD). Additionally, he must surrender all travel documents and is prohibited from applying for new ones.
Swan is also required to report to Hamilton Police Station every Monday and Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
His next court appearance is scheduled for January 2, 2025, at the monthly Supreme Court arraignment session.
