This week SkillCraft begins its second round of social media internship under the guidance of Program Director and Coach Margot Shane. The fifteen student interns and fifteen host-organizations who will take part in the summer program have been announced.
Program Director Margot Shane said “To be afforded the opportunity to run Skillcraft for a second year is an incredible privilege in that we get to build on the successes of last year to
create a program that exceeds the expectations of both our youth interns and host businesses.
This year, we will be offering our 15 young people more curriculum time and coaching support to ensure they are empowered to become knowledgeable “mini social media marketers” in just six
weeks. Interns will also be required to deliver at least 3 months worth of social media posts ensuring that businesses are equipped with a potential source of plug-and-play content.”
“Bringing this program to fruition would not be possible without the support we have received from the community. We are very pleased to have received the support of Centennial Bermuda
Foundation’s Economic Participation Committee through their grant of $107,000 for the funding of our SkillCraft Youth Internship Programme and for the partnership, shared resources and
knowledge of Cedarbridge Academy, The Berkeley Institute, Ignite Bermuda, Digicel and The Clarity Institute. ”
SkillCraft is thrilled to announce that Aziza Furbert and Veronica DeGraff have joined the team for the summer. Ms. Furbert will be teaching the youth interns about marketing and social media management and running strategy workshops with the host-organizations. Ms. DeGraff will be
supporting Margot and the SkillCraft team with coaching and facilitating the program.
Interns will acquire knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of marketing and social media at the Bermuda Clarity Institute Learning Lab every week. The 15 youth interns have been paired
with one organization each, where they will practice what they learn and help with social media throughout the 6 weeks.
SkillCraft welcomes A’mel Spence, Amber Gibbons, Caelen Robinson, Daetona Simons, Dante Sousa, Denaisia Bean, Gabriele Young, Jah’Shon Jeffers, Kaylani Simmons, Kaetlyn Thompson Margarida Simas, Kemauri Darrell, Rhylee Edwards, Zaria Hill and Zemira Simons as the youth interns this summer. The 15 host-organizations are AboutFace Aesthetics, Ad Astra, Arches Podiatry, Bermuda Gymnastics Association, Bermuda National Trust, Bermuda Society of Arts,
Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, Blue Water Divers Bermuda, Citizens Uprooting Racism Bermuda, Dayrosia, Harmony Birth Services, Healthcare Solutions Ltd, Inspired, Nadz
