Serious road traffic collision involving male pedestrian and water truck

Shortly  after 7:15 p.m. on Monday, October 30th, 2023, police officers were dispatched to a serious road traffic collision involving a male pedestrian and a water truck in the area of Marley Beach, Warwick.

Details are limited at this time.

However, upon arrival at the scene, officers were informed the pedestrian, a visitor to the island, was attempting to cross the roadway when the collision occurred.

Reports are the male was unconscious with a suspected severe head injury.

He was transported via ambulance to King Edward Hospital for treatments.

At last check he was being admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

The roadway was closed to all vehicular traffic with diversions in place at South Road/ Dunscombe Road and South Road/ Warwick Lane.
