Serial sex offender found guilty of preying on sisters

A 59-year-old man, who preyed on two minor females repeatedly during their youth, was this evening found guilty of multiple sex offences.

By majority vote of a six man, six woman jury John Dexter Seaman was judged guilty of committing eight illegal sex offences against two sisters.

These included four counts of sexual exploitation, two charges of unlawful carnal knowledge and two counts of attempted unlawful carnal knowledge.
The offences occurred over 25 years ago, between 1992 and 1997.

Seaman was remanded in custody pending sentencing by Puisne Judge Juan Wolffe, with the sentencing date set down for July 10.

Seaman is no stranger to acts of indecency, having had been convicted of offences of indecency in 1982 and 1988, the latter for which he was imprisoned for, three years.
