Mr. Dennis Wainwright, a longtime Cup Match player and sportsman announced the Cup Match safe hands award winner, explains why Dion Stovell was deserving of this year’s Cup Match Classic award.
He is very happy to announce the recipient, Mr. Dion Stovell, who has been one of his favorite athletes on the island.
Mr. Wainwright shares that Stovell’s unassuming approach to both football and cricket has inspired him for quite a while. He recalls first meeting Stovell in St. David’s when he was a very young fellow.
Since then, Stovell has been developed his skills, becoming Bermuda’s premier cricketer and footballer.
The award this year was sponsored by The Bermuda Health Care Services.
