The Salvation Army North Street Family Services, dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations, is reaching out to the Bermuda community for immediate support as it faces a critical financial challenge.
Due to increased demand for their local services, they have maxed out their monthly budget and will need to temporarily close for the week if they cannot secure vital donations.
The Salvation Army is calling on businesses and community members to join them in collecting and donating food and pantry staples (including non-perishable canned, tin, or boxed food supplies) or monetary donations to provide additional assistance and help them reach November.
“Our team has tried to be creative with resources, but we are observing a concerning increase in the number of those seeking assistance,” says Captain Dennis Maybury, Public Relations Officer.
“The situation is critical as this is the first time we are experiencing a shortfall in donations at this time of year and finding it difficult to keep up with the need.”
With only a week left in October, it is essential that community members act quickly. “We urge
everyone to consider making a donation to help us bridge this gap and keep our doors open,” says Maybury.
