BREAKING NEWS:
The One Bermuda Alliance has chosen Robert King as its new leader following a six-week leadership contest sparked by the resignation of Jarion Richardson.
King, who has been a prominent figure within the party for a few years, secured the top position after members voted in an internal process that wrapped up this morning. He will be supported by Scott Perman, who was elected deputy leader.
In addition to the leadership posts, the party announced William Soares as the new chairman, while Victoria Cunningham and Jeremy Shrubb will serve as co-chairs.
The leadership shake-up follows Richardson’ announcement that he would step down after serving as OBA leader, a move that prompted the party to enter what insiders described as “conference mode” to identify its new direction.
Party members expressed optimism that the new team will bring stability and renewed energy. Observers say King’s leadership will be closely watched as the OBA seeks to strengthen its position and reconnect with voters.
