Rafael Campos Secures Emotional First PGA Tour Victory at Bermuda Championship

In a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 PGA FedEx Butterfield Bermuda Championship, Rafael Campos of Puerto Rico secured his first-ever PGA Tour win. The victory, achieved on his third attempt in Bermuda, marked a career milestone for Campos, who has been chasing this dream for five years.

After clinching the title, Campos shared his emotions with TNN’s Trevor Lindsay, reflecting on the significance of this triumph. “I can’t believe it,” he said, his voice filled with gratitude.

“I’ve always dreamt of winning on the PGA Tour, and Bermuda will always hold a special place in my heart. The people here make it so easy for us—they’re so hospitable. Being an island boy and winning here on an island makes me feel close to home.”

The win not only cements Campos’ status on the PGA Tour but also ensures his future in professional golf. “This place will hold a very special place in my heart,” he said. “It’s because of this tournament and this place that I know I have a job for the coming years, and I’ll be eternally grateful for it.”

Campos, who recently became a father, expressed his intention to return to Bermuda next year, this time with his wife and newborn daughter. “Oh, a hundred percent,” he said with a smile. “I promise I’ll bring my wife and my beautiful daughter next year, as long as they’re all healthy.”

The win is not just a personal triumph for Campos but a testament to perseverance, making his first PGA Tour title one to remember. Bermuda, too, has gained a place in his heart as a location tied to his success, hospitality, and cherished memories.
