The Minister of Education, the Hon. Diallo Rabain, JP, MP, has provided the following post-hurricane update.
Minister Rabain said, “Following Hurricane Fiona, all public school buildings have been assessed to safely re-open.”
“The Ministry and Department of Education are pleased to report that all schools will be open tomorrow, Monday, September 26th, for in-person learning.”
“On behalf of our students, staff, and parents, I wish to thank those who assisted with the inspection of our school buildings and properties this past weekend. I also wish to thank BELCO for prioritising our schools to ensure electricity was restored in time to open schools.”
Minister Rabain concluded, “We are blessed to have weathered the hurricane safely, and we look forward to welcoming our students back to school tomorrow.”
