Public Health Emergency Extension

The Government advised this evening that the Public Health (Covid-19) Emergency Order, which was passed in the House of Assembly on December 10, 2021, has been posted online in the Official Gazette. The Order can be found here.

Simply put, the Order extends the existing Public Health Emergency for 30 days (from January 28, 2022 – February 27, 2022) and allows the Legislature to return to assess if any further public health regulations should be extended.

This is not unusual, and this extension order represents the seventh (7th) such extension.

As a note, Government also advised that earlier today the Cabinet reviewed the current Public Health Regulations which came into effect on December 23rd, and were to be reviewed after four (4) weeks.

Tomorrow, the Minister of Health will share details of any revisions made and the duration that they will be in effect.
