TNN UPDATE: The inmate in question returned to the Correctional facility last night, and it’s understood the individual will be Adjudicaded or Discipline according to Treatment of Offenders ( TOB ) regulations.
BREAKING NEWS, with word coming in to TNN regarding an inmate on day release who was being housed at the Co-ed Correctional facility at Ferry Reach, St George’s has not return to the facility.
According to reliable sources, the convict, who is known to possess an extensive criminal history, was said to have been out on a Sunday home visit day release.
The man, who TNN cannot name at this time, had been assigned to the Right Living House programme and is not believed to be a serious public threat, however authorities are anxious to establish his whereabouts in order to effect recapture.
The situation has arisen at a time when the Bermuda Police Service is stretched, while dealing with two serious traffic accidents, one involving two motorcycle riders colliding on Harrington Sound road, and another involving a serious collision involving a two visitors to the Island and motor car.
TNN has made several unsuccessful attempts to get a comment from Corrections Department.
