Over the course of the past two days (March 28-29), the Premier and Minister of Finance, the Hon. E David Burt, JP, MP, has met with several members of the US Congress as well as officials in the US State Department, Treasury Department, and the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC).
This week’s meetings are aimed at ensuring familiarity with Bermuda’s diverse financial services sector and to highlight the impact of regional de-risking from the US banking sector.
Following a busy meeting schedule, Premier David Burt said, “These meetings are beneficial to Bermuda as they reinforce to US leaders that Bermuda is a cooperative jurisdiction with high standards for international compliance. Overseas engagements promote business growth in Bermuda while deepening our cooperation and partnership with our US partners.”
