Premier David Burt, JP, MP and the Acting Minister of Sport the Hon. Jache Adams, JP, MP today welcomed members of the North Village Community Club to the Cabinet Office.
North Village defeated Devonshire Cougars 2–0 at the Flora Duffy Stadium on Sunday.
This win completes a domestic double, as North Village already secured the Premier Division championship title earlier this season.
This afternoon, Minister Adams and Premier Burt had the opportunity to congratulate the North Village Community Club during their visit to the Cabinet Office, an annual tradition.
Premier Burt said, “Winning both the league and the FA Cup is a great accomplishment and a source of pride for the club. Congratulations to the North Village Community Club on an outstanding season. I also want to recognise the Devonshire Cougars, a team I proudly support, for the effort and quality of play they brought to the match. While the result was not what we had hoped for, they carried themselves with professionalism and represented their club with pride.”
The Premier also acknowledged the hard work of the coaching staff, support teams, and the fans who continue to support their clubs each season.
