Power Outage in Club Road-Devils Hole area

Word coming to TNN News yesterday, Tuesday, June 17th, a significant power outage impacted the Club Road Devils Road area, leaving dozens of residents in the dark for 17 hours during one of the hottest days of the year thus far.

TNN understands that a round 9am yesterday morning the power outage began, speaking with an area resident at 10 p.m. last night, power had still not been restored. Frustrated residents expressed concerns about enduring extreme heat without air conditioning or fans, questioning why BELCO is still struggling with outages during critical times.

A reliable source within BELCO, telling TNN that an underground fault in the cable system is the root cause of this outage, which stretches from the Harrington Sound side of the area all the way to the South Shore road side.

Approximately 48 to 50 customers remain without power.

As of 2:00 a.m. this morning, we received an update that restoration efforts was successful and power was restored.

TNN will continue to follow this story and provide an official BELCO response as an updates become available.
