Police Respond to Domestic Incident On Pond Hill

This afternoon, several residents near the Pond Hill, Pembroke area were concerned about a heavy police presence in the area.

Bermuda Police Service media relations manager Gary Moreno confirmed that police responded to a domestic incident in the area at around 12:30 p.m.

“A police negotiator attended the scene and is currently engaged in deescalation of the situation which involves a 24-year-old male,” Mr. Moreno said. “Two other occupants at the residence were able to leave the scene uninjured.”

Reports have been circulating throughout social media regarding a possible use of firearms in this incident. Mr. Moreno would like to dispel that rumor as just a rumor right now, there has been no firearm incident this afternoon.

“ There has also been some question about the number of police officers who have responded to this incident and this has all been done out of an abundance of caution,” Mr. Moreno said.

No one has been physically injured in this incident. Stay tuned to TNN for further updates.
