Hamilton, Bermuda — Commissioner of Police Darren Simons and Chief Inspector Jason Smith today delivered a significant update on the ongoing murder investigation tied to the deadly shooting at Legends bar.
According to Commissioner Simons, four armed gunmen descended upon the popular nightspot, opening fire with four separate firearms. The targeted and violent attack resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left three others injured, bringing the total number of victims to five.
Authorities confirmed after inquiries by TNN’s Trevor Lindsay that motorcycles believed to have been used in the execution of the crime were recovered in the Dockyard area. Additionally, new evidence, including CCTV footage, has revealed that one of the suspected gunmen may be injured. While officials did not disclose how the injuries were sustained, they emphasized that the wounds are considered serious. The exact location of the injury remains unknown.
In a public appeal, Commissioner Simons urged residents to be vigilant. “If you see someone with a suspicious or unexplained injury, please contact police immediately,” he said. “This individual will require medical treatment, and we are asking anyone in the medical field—doctors, nurses, caregivers—not to assist this person. Instead, notify the police without delay.”
The police also expressed appreciation for the public’s support in the investigation thus far. Since releasing footage of the suspects approaching Legends bar, law enforcement has made progress in identifying the individuals involved. One suspect has been apprehended, while the remaining three are believed to be in hiding.
“The public’s assistance has been invaluable,” Chief Inspector Smith said. “But we need your continued help. If you recognize the individuals or have any information on their whereabouts, do not hesitate to come forward.”
The Bermuda Police Service assured the community that they will continue working around the clock to bring all perpetrators to justice.
