Three men appeared In Magistrates Court this morning charged with firearm, ammunition and drugs possession with intent to supply offenses.
The three men were not required to enter a plea to the indictable offenses.
• 39 year old Jonathan Mcalpine Talbot of Smith Parish, and
• 27 year old Jonathan Mello of St,George as well as
• 29 year old Ryan Resendes of St. George
were all charged with importing a firearm, ammunition and drugs into Bermuda between a date unknown and November 14, 2023.
• Talbot was also charged with, Between the 21st November 2023 and the 2nd December 2023, in the Islands of Bermuda, attempted to pervert the course of justice by improperly disclosing information about the investigation of the murder of Wilfred Outerbridge.
• Another charge Talbot faced was between the 21st November 2023 and the 2nd December 2023, in the Islands of Bermuda, caused a computer to perform a function with intent to secure access to data held in a computer, which access was and which you knew at the time to be unauthorised, in that it fell outside legitimate police business.
• Jonathon Mello and Ryan Resendes also faced charges of possession of a Taurus 9mm pistol, possession of a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol, possession of ammunition and possession of drugs namely Methylenedyoxymathamphetamine, with intent to supply and possession of Cannabinoid Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinoid with intent to supply.
All three accused men were bailed to the sum of $100, hundred thousand dollars with a surety, a 7am to 7pm curfew and to report Hamilton police station twice weekly and to be fitted with a electronic monitoring device ( EMD).
Talbot, Mello and Resendes will next appear in Supreme Court on July 1, 2024, monthly arraignment.
