Joint Police Operation Involving Cement Cargo Ship in Dockyard

A joint police operation involving the Bermuda Police Service, Bermuda Customs and the Royal Bermuda Regiment has been in process up at the Royal Naval Dockyard for the greater part of the day, today.

The uniformed agencies have boarded the cement ship the Suhar which is docked up at the Dockyard.

Contacted about the operation a police spokesman would say only: “Based on information received, the Bermuda Police Service (BPS, Bermuda Customs assisted by the Royal Bermuda Regiment Coast Guard, engaged in a joint operation which involved the execution of a warrant on board a visiting cargo ship.

The operation remains ongoing.

As such, it would not be prudent to provide any further information at this time.”
