Shortly after 9:00 a.m. today, Wednesday, April 19th, 2023, police received several reports of a truck traveling in a westerly direction on South Road, Paget, being driven in an erratic manner.
The vehicle was reportedly swerving from one side of the roadway to the next.
Officers responded and stopped the vehicle near the Rubis Service Station on South Road, Warwick.
It was immediately observed that the male driver was in need of medical assistance as he was breathing heavily and incoherent.
As officers attempted to speak with him, his truck rolled forward and collided with a marked police car parked nearby.
There were no injuries reported.
Emergency Medical Services were alerted and upon arrival attended to the truck driver before transporting him by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
An investigation into this matter is now underway.
