Shortly after 8:30 this evening, police received several phone calls of gunshots heard near the Warwick Workman’s Club on Cobb’s Hill.
Once police attended the scene, a man in his twenty was transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital. According to BPS Acting Chief Inspector Darren Glasford, the victim has since succumbed to his injuries, making this the second shooting death on the island within three days.
Anyone who may have information on this incident is urged to call the police reporting hotline at 2-1-1, emergency at 9-1-1, the Hamilton Police Station at 295-0011 or to speak to a police officer that they know.
Due to the early nature of the investigation, police cannot confirm whether this shooting was gang-related or not, or whether or not this evening’s and Tuesday evening’s shootings are at all connected.
