Police Investigating Second Firearm Incident Today

The Bermuda Police service, (BPS), can confirm that around 10.00 pm, Tuesday28thDecember, 2021, a number of reports were received of gunshots fired in the area of Deepdale Road East and Parsons Road, Pembroke.

Detective Chief Inspector,(DCI), Peter Stableford of the Serious Crime Unit, stated, “After forensic examination of the area, a number of rounds of ammunition were recovered.

It is believed two persons on a motorcycle were seen in the vicinity at the time, travelling along Deepdale Road East, towards Happy Valley Road, Pembroke.

About 1.00 am on Wednesday 29th December  2021 a male was stopped by police on Middle Road, Warwick, as he made his way to King Edward Hospital, with a gunshot wound to the his leg.

According to DCI Stableford, “The male reported being shot whilst riding his motorcycle at the junction of Cambridge Road and Somerset Road in Sandys. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening and he continues to receive treatment at the hospital.

The police are investigating both incidents which we do not believe are connected at this time.”
