Police Increase Patrols on Bermuda Roads: Several Arrests and Speeding Incidents Reported

Police presence on Bermuda’s roads has been significantly heightened as officers work to ensure public safety during the holiday season.

Within just 90 minutes, authorities reported several arrests, including individuals with outstanding warrants, one case of impaired driving, and multiple drivers caught speeding—some reaching speeds of up to 84 kilometers per hour.

Law enforcement officials are urging motorists to exercise caution and responsibility, particularly tonight, as celebrations continue.

“Slow down, and if you’re drinking, please use a designated driver,” a police spokesperson advised.

With patrols set to continue into the early hours of the morning, officers are prioritizing road safety and encouraging everyone to make smart decisions. “We want everyone to arrive at their destinations safely,” the spokesperson added.

Motorists are reminded that reckless driving and impaired operation of vehicles put not only themselves but also other road users at risk. The police emphasize that these measures are in place to prevent accidents and ensure a safe conclusion to the holiday festivities.
