Police Execute Raid in Pembroke, Separate Incident in Southampton Raises Concerns

Last week, the Police Firearms Tactical Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the Deepdale, Pembroke area. During the operation, authorities reportedly seized a quantity of drugs. Inquiries sent to the police regarding this matter were acknowledged, and a response was provided posted below.

• The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that on Wednesday, November 20, a firearms warrant was executed at a Pembroke Parish residence where a quantity of suspected drugs were recovered.

A 22 year old male was arrested in connection with the seizure.

In a separate and alarming incident on Saturday, residents in the Horseshoe Road, Southampton area faced a potentially life-threatening situation.

TNN understands that two motorcycles, each carrying two individuals dressed in dark clothing, arrived at the location. The individuals, reportedly armed, pursued residents in the area.

Witnesses suggest that one firearm was exposed, and the armed individuals appeared intent on using it. However, reports indicate that the firearm jammed during the incident, preventing it from discharging. The residents managed to flee to safety.

TNN has reached out to the Bermuda Police Service for confirmation and further details. A police spokesperson responded with the following statement:

• Police are investigating a reported firearm incident which is said to have occurred at a Southampton residence on Saturday, November 23rd.

Upon arrival, police were informed a number of individuals were gathered outside the residence when two unknown males on a motorcycle arrived at the location.

One of the males reportedly brandished a firearm. However, no firearm was discharged and no one was injured.

The alleged suspects then left the scene.
