Police Continue Islandwide Drug Raids

Police today, Wednesday 9th February, 2022, executed a number of Drug Warrants, in support of this past week end’s “Operation Pegasus” initiative.

Officers from the Bermuda Police Service Drugs Unit, Tactical Support Division, and the Criminal Investigations Unit, led by Police Sergeant (Ag) Jerry Waterman, executed warrants at residences in the Eastern and Western Parishes, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of cash, under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Meanwhile, Detective Chief Inspector Sherwin Joseph of the Specialist Investigations Department provided an update on items seized during last weekend’s exercise, “We have now received confirmation from our Senior Government Analysts that some of the substances seized during this weekend’s operation, contained the controlled drugs Cocaine, Diamorphine (Heroin) and Fentanyl.”

We continue to appeal for anyone with information surrounding illegal drug activity to contact us by calling 211 or the main police number 295-0011 or, the confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800-8477.

Speaking with a police officer with whom you are familiar is another means by which you may provide information to us.
