Police appealing for witnesses in serious road traffic collision in Hamilton Parish

Around 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, police and other first responders attended a serious road traffic collision involving two cycles at the junction of Workmen’s Lane and North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish.

 

A male motorcyclist was traveling in an easterly direction along North shore Road, when he attempted to make a right hand turn onto Workmen’s Lane.

 

In the process of doing so, he came into the path of an auxiliary cycle, which was headed west and the two vehicles collided.

 

The male motorcycle rider suffered a severe leg injury as well as a suspected head injury.

 

He was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where at last check, he continued to receive treatment for his injuries.

 

The female rider of the auxiliary cycle suffered minor bruising to her hip and hands. She was attended to at the scene by EMTs from the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service.

 

Traffic flow was restricted to one lane for a short period while the scene was processed.
