Police Appeal for Witnesses in Serious Traffic Collinsion in Devils Hole area

Shortly before 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, June 11th, 2023, police received a report of a single-vehicle traffic collision on Harrington Sound Road, near the junction with Broken Hill, Smiths.

Initial information suggested a motorcycle was travelling east on Harrington Sound Road, when upon approaching Broken Hill, the male rider collided with a concrete wall. He sustained serious facial injuries but remained conscious. A female pillion passenger, sustained minor injuries.

Both victims were attended to at the scene by EMTs before being transported by ambulance to King Edward Hospital for further treatment of their injuries.

Traffic was routed away from the area where the collision occurred while police processed the scene. East bound traffic was diverted onto Devil’s Hole Hill at the junction with Harrington Sound Road, while traffic headed west, was diverted at onto Paynter’s Road at the junction with Harrington Sound Road.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision or know of the circumstances which may have led to it, is asked to call the main police number, 295-0011 or provide the information via the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) Community Reporting Portal at https://portal.police.bm

Meanwhile, the BPS is appealing for individuals who may have electronically received video or still images of the two victims recorded shortly after the collision, to exercise compassion and not share them on. Instead, delete them from your devices.
