The Progressive Labour Party today welcomes the entry of Independent Candidate Richard
Exon into the race for Constituency #19, Pembroke West, while correcting an error in his
recent LinkedIn post where he referred to the PLP candidate for the area by the wrong
name.
A PLP spokesperson noted: “We welcome Mr. Exon to the race and appreciate his
willingness to contribute to the democratic process. However, we would like to clarify that the PLP candidate for Constituency #19 is Junior Minister of Finance Jache Adams JP , MP , NOT
Jacin Lowe as Mr. Exon seems to believe.
While we appreciate and agree with his description of the PLP candidate as ‘intelligent and good,” it is unfortunate that he hasn’t the
correct name of the Member of Parliament.
The spokesperson added: “This election is about more than just candidates however—it’s
about continuing to build a fairer Bermuda for all of us. Under the leadership of the PLP ,
Bermuda has made strides in increasing pensions for seniors, introducing the minimum
wage, building affordable homes, expanding access to child daycare and lowering taxes for
86% of Bermudians while raising taxes on the elite and privileged. These are the tangible
actions that reflect our commitment to making steady progress towards a Bermuda that
works for everyone and not just the few.
”The PLP also acknowledged the expanding field in Constituency #19 and the importance of
a vigorous debate.
“With the entry of Mr. Exon this race presents an opportunity to focus on the issues that matter most to Bermudians. So far The PLP is the only political organization bringing forward real, tangible solutions to ease the pain of the high cost of living, tackle crime, and reform education for our children. We look forward to sharing our vision, engaging with voters, and demonstrating why the PLP remains the best, and safest choice
for Bermuda’s future.”
The spokesperson concluded, “Jache Adams is a proven leader whose passion, integrity,
and commitment to fairness make him the clear choice to continue the work of building a
fairer Bermuda for all of us.“
