PLP ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE POSTPONED AS COURT MATTER CONTINUES

The Progressive Labour Party’s Annual General Conference, previously scheduled for October 28th through 30th, 2026, has officially been postponed.

TNN News understands that an email was circulated this afternoon to branch chairs, secretaries, members and candidates from the Central Committee meeting group, formally confirming the decision.

The notice states that the current conference timetable has been paused and that all delegate selection meetings scheduled under that timetable are postponed and should not take place until a revised timetable is issued.

According to the notification, normal branch business may continue.

However, the August 31st membership eligibility cutoff remains unchanged.

The Central Committee says that once the current court matter is resolved, proposed new conference dates and a revised timetable will be submitted to Central Committee for approval. Branches, members and candidates will then be notified of the new arrangements.

The development comes amid an ongoing legal dispute surrounding the PLP’s delegate selection process and the party’s upcoming leadership and conference arrangements.

TNN News understands the postponement is connected to the ongoing injunction and court proceedings before the Supreme Court. The matter follows legal action challenging decisions surrounding membership eligibility and delegate participation.

The Central Committee notification concludes by instructing recipients to “govern yourself accordingly.”

The postponement represents another significant development in the continuing turmoil surrounding the PLP as the party prepares for its Annual General Conference.

TNN News will continue to monitor the court proceedings and developments within the PLP and will bring you further updates as they become available.
