The 61st Annual Founder’s Day and Drum Major Awards will be held at the CedarBridge Academy
Cafeteria on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. We welcome and encourage all Party members and supporters to attend as we celebrate our Founders and present Drum Major Awards.
The Guest Speaker for this year’s event will be Lt. Col.,The Hon. David Burch, OBE (Mil), ED, JP, MP. Colonel Burch was elected to Parliament on July 17, 2017, and was appointed by Premier the Hon. E. David Burt, as Minister of Public Works. His first Cabinet appointment saw him serve as Government Leader in the Senate and Minister without Portfolio.
From 2005 to 2010 he served as Minister of Works and Engineering and Housing, Minister of Public Safety and Housing, Minister of
Labour, Home Affairs and Housing and Minister of National Security, respectively. He is the only
current serving Cabinet Member to have served in the Cabinet of all previous PLP Premiers.
Col. Burch is known as a very effective politician and tells it like it is. We look forward to hearing his message and absorbing the wisdom he plans to impart before he retires. Col. Burch and has announced his intention to retire at the end of this parliamentary term.
