Philippine murder suspect reportedly believed to be in Bermuda

A woman wanted by authorities in the Philippines in connection with the murder of a senior employee of the Philippine House of Representatives is reportedly believed to be in Bermuda, although her presence on the island has not been independently confirmed.

Ma. Theresa J. Requerme is one of several people named in a warrant of arrest issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court in connection with the June 15, 2025 killing of Mauricio “Morrie” Pulhin, 63, chief of technical staff of the House Committee on Ways and Means.

The Philippine Star reported in October 2025 that the court ordered the arrest of Requerme, Alexis Jesus Cuchapin Jr., Ignicris Pios and Judy Rivera. The newspaper reported that Philippine police had identified Requerme and Cuchapin as the alleged masterminds of the killing. These remain allegations and Requerme has not been convicted of the offence. (Philstar.com)

The Manila Bulletin separately reported that the Quezon City Police District had launched manhunt operations following the issuance of murder warrants by Regional Trial Court Branch 91 on September 24, 2025. (Manila Bulletin)

Pulhin was shot at close range while attending his seven-year-old daughter’s birthday celebration in Quezon City. The Philippine Daily Inquirer and the Philippine News Agency reported that the gunmen fled by motorcycle and fired at a security guard while escaping. (Inquirer News)

The investigation has continued into 2026. Philippine media reported in February that another accused man, Ignicris Pios, had been arrested after police served a warrant against him in Bulacan. (DZRH News)

Social media posts circulating in recent days claim that Requerme travelled from Hong Kong to Bermuda and is presently on the island. One post goes further, claiming she is the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice. Neither claim has been independently verified. A search of INTERPOL’s publicly available Red Notices does not presently show a notice for Requerme, although INTERPOL does not make every Red Notice available to the public.

There are also unconfirmed reports that Requerme may be working in Bermuda. At this stage, there is no independent confirmation of her employment, immigration status or current whereabouts, and those claims should therefore be treated as unverified.

What is established through Philippine news reports and police information is that a murder warrant was issued naming Requerme and that Philippine authorities have sought the arrest of the accused in connection with Pulhin’s killing. (Facebook)

The Bermuda Police Service has been contacted for comment and confirmation as to whether it is aware of the Philippine warrant, whether Requerme is believed to be in Bermuda and whether any request for assistance has been received from overseas authorities. A response is awaited.
