Pastor Aims to Carry Out the Lord’s Mission Throughout the Island

Pastor Blanche Burchall, of Glory Temple New Testament Church of God in St. David’s, realized that some people within the community are experiencing stress and anxiety, brought on in part by the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects.

Pastor Burchall and Tammy Wilson had decided to give people some hope, faith and love through this difficult time through the Jehovah Provides Ministry.

“Every Tuesday, we give those in need soup, sandwiches, snacks, drinks and a good smile,” she said. “This is our Jesus call at this time, so we encourage Bermuda to look up; redemption draweth nigh.”

As Pastor Burchall and the Ministry go around providing food, they have noticed that a lot of people are just waiting for them to hand it out. Once they receive the food, all of them are very grateful.

“It is a very grave time right now, but there is still hope, God provides,” Pastor Burchall said.
She wants to spread the lord’s message of hope to everyone on the island, from the younger generation hooked on technology to the elderly people who helped pave the way.

“ Sometimes, we look around and see what we do not have, but we have to look again to see what we do have and count our blessings,” she said. “Even though we are unable to physically visit a lot of the elderly people at this time, there are caregivers within the community who are able to go forth and give them some hope as well.”

Ms. Wilson is very grateful to the Ministry, Pastor Burchall, Pastor Leroy Bean and to the community as a whole for allowing them to bless the less fortunate.

“ I was once out on the streets ‘doing a pack’, but God delivered me and I am free to do what he sees fit for me to do; I am very grateful for that,” she said.
