Parsons Road Out Door Movie Night Successfull

Love for the community. That’s the reason Alfred Butterfield says he will be putting on a series of six family oriented free movie nights, at the Parsons Road playground in Pembroke.

The first was last Friday, with the showing of the latest in the Kung-Fu Panda series.

Mr. Butterfield says, “We’re trying to breathe new life and interest into the North Hamilton area in General and the Parson’s Road playground in particular.”

“This is literally home for me and it’s also where I chose to set up my business, Jazzy Treats.”

While attendance at the movies is free, there will be treats on sale. Mr. Butterfield pointed out the monies raised will go back into restoring the playground.

“We hear all the time that government needs to do this and government needs to do that, but we decided, we will do this ourselves.”

“We are working to install new benches at the playground and even spruce up the gazebo. Families from around here take pride in this place and we want to make it a little more enjoyable for them.”

Last Friday, attendees were also treated to live entertainment from local artiste, “Live Wires”. Mr. Butterfield says that’s another of the attractions he hopes will encourage residents from across the island to attend the free movie event.

He is hopeful that other businesses will get involved and encourages them to contact him by emailing, jazzytreatsbda@gmail.com or by calling him on 705-2077.

As to what movie’s coming up next and who else will be performing, Mr. Butterfield says, come around this Friday and find out, but one thing’s for sure, it will definitely be a good one.
