Parks Department carries out tree trimming hurricane preparation

Recently, the Department of Parks carried out tree trimming and maintenance on Berry Hill Road in Paget as part of the Government’s hurricane preparedness efforts, which include cutting back overhanging vegetation and shrubbery around the Island.

High winds from storms have the potential to knock over trees and create additional difficulties during clean-up efforts following a storm’s passage.

These measures, along with the cooperation of residents who are encouraged to trim back overhanging trees on public roads from their properties, can prevent future power outages, road closures and an extended clean-up.

Residents are encouraged to be prepared in the event of a hurricane this season.
