A 61-year-old man has been charged in Magistrates Court with receiving more than half a million dollars through dishonest means.
Pembroke resident Troy Brimmer appeared in the lower court accused of obtaining close to $565,000 in money transfers via credit card, which was noted to be criminal property.
He additionally faces two further charges of attempting to get $267,065 by using compromised credit cards.
Charged along with Brimmer was 61 year old Pembroke woman, Shirleyann Simons, who was accused of concealing $3,000, also said to be criminal proceeds, with the alleged offences said to have occurred between April 4 and 18, 2023.
Ms Simons, is also accused of obtaining close to $80,000 in money transfers through the use of compromised credit cards, with the offence taking place on April 11, 2023.
As the case must be heard in the Supreme Court, neither of the accused was required to enter pleas.
The casee were adjourned and set down for mention in Supreme Court in January, with each defendant bailed in the sum of $25,000 bail, with one surety each.
