Paget Primary School Celebrates Black History Month with Annual Exhibition

As Black History Month comes to a close, Paget Primary School is preparing to host its highly anticipated annual Black History Month exhibition.

This event, a staple in the school’s calendar, is dedicated to honoring and showcasing the contributions of Black Bermudian individuals through a variety of creative displays.

This year’s exhibition highlights 13 distinguished individuals Allison Figureido, Antoine Richards, Chesley Trott, Clermnot “Duke” Joell, DAME Marjorie Bean Dean Furbert Ellsworth Christopher, Florenz Maxwell, Kalmar Richards  (COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION)  Kingsley Tweed, Reginald “Toby” Dillas, Reid Johansen, Sylvia Richardson and The Tatem Family, with students and teachers working together to present their lives and achievements through pictures, exhibits, and video presentations. The event provides an educational and inspiring experience, emphasizing the impact and legacy of Black leaders in various fields.

The public is invited to visit the exhibition on Wednesday, February 26, and Thursday, February 27, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friends, family members, and dignitaries are welcome to explore the displays and engage with the thought-provoking presentations prepared by the students.

An official opening ceremony will take place at the school on Wednesday morning during assembly, marking the commencement of this special event. Visitors are encouraged to come by and experience the depth of history and culture celebrated through this exhibition.

Paget Primary School continues to foster awareness and appreciation of Black history through this annual event, reinforcing the importance of education and remembrance in shaping a more inclusive future.
